Software production is a cross-area expertise grown since the development of the Delta Differential One-way Ranging S/W correlator. Our service covers the study of the theoretical aspects of the problem/work, the definition of the S/W requirements, the design and implementation of the code, and finally the testing activities. Arpsoft is active also in the field of the S/W mantainance; in fact, we are currently mantaining two crucial software operationally used at ESA, the DDOR S/W correlator and RFIAT.
Deep Space TT&C systems
Arpsoft has a great experience in software solutions for deep space tracking systems. Our history in this field dates back to 2005, with the realization of the first European S/W DDOR correlator (developed as researchers of Sapienza University of Rome). The DDOR software was enhanced several times through the past decade, and has been subject of studies for solutions to reach a very high accuracy. The mantainance of the DDOR package shows the unique experience that we have in the interferometry field. Also, as part of Sapienza staff, we had the opportunity to specialize our knowledge on tracking systems with development of S/W solutions for high-frequency ranging systems.
Our work in the Radio Science Laboratory of Sapienza University was focused mainly on radio science experiments, with the aim of estimation of gravity fields, post Newtonian parameters or tidal coefficients. Such activity allowed us to be skilled on the use of Orbit Determination codes, such as ODP-Traj and MONTE, used at Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Part of the staff has also joined the Guidance, Navigation and Control section of NASA-JPL to work on the operational navigation of the Dawn mission.
We have acquired experience in Radio Science Experiment Management aboard important missions like BepiColombo and JUICE. Our service covers the definition of the science objectives and the experiment requirements, the interface with the radio frequency sybsystem, the management of the interface with the Mission Project, the supervision of the industry activities to make sure that the experiment requirements are met, and finally the handling of the experiments and the publication of the results.
